Adafruit HUZZAH ESP8266 Breakout
I will organize these at some point, but right now I just want to store these somewhere....
The Adafruit HUZZAH ESP8266 Breakout is an even simpler board that the Feather Huzzah.
It doesn't have a builtin USB port, so it requires a special USB FTDI cable to connect, such as the one BCRobotics sells:
I recently upgraded to Mac OSX 10.15 Catalina, and was unable to connect. I do not know what the correct ORDER was to get everything running, but i did a whole bunch of stuff. It was rather frustrating as I kept uninstalling and reinstalling, trying older versions, etc. So i am not at all sure what was the final 'correct' installation.
Update - it had stopped working by the next day. So i am not sure what is going on - going to give this all another try....
Download and install the VCP Driver from FTDI Chip VCP Driver. If you get a permissions error, go to System Preferences - Security & Privacy - General and click on the 'allow' button (if it shows up).
SiLabs CP210x Drivers
Download the latest drivers from SiLabs.
I first uninstalled the old driver. If you look under the Troubleshooting folder, there are get_info.sh and uninstaller.sh scripts.
Then run the installer to add the driver again.
