Cleaning OSX Log Files

Periodically, the OSX Log files should be cleaned out. One of the obvious effects of having a lot of log files is slow login using the Terminal application.

Start up a terminal application to get a command line.

First list the files:

   ls /private/var/log/asl/*.asl

Then delete them with:

   sudo rm -rf /private/var/log/asl/*.asl
