Windows Screen Resolution with VirtualBox

Doing a plain install of Windows under VirtualBox provides only a limited number of screen resolutions; in order to get a wider range of screen resolutions, the VirtualBox Guest Additions need to be installed.

In the VirtualBox popup, click on the Devices item to bring up a popup menu.

Select the Insert Guest Additions CD image... option and then follow any prompts and run the .exe.

You will need to reboot the VBox client; when it restarts, the computer may automatically select the higher resolution. If not, click on the background and set the Windows Screen Resolution normally (or through the Control Panel).
